“Even though the stainless steel tools look unusual, the Graston Technique®
has brought me much relief. GT breaks up scar tissue fibers and smoothes the tissue underneath. It has increased my range of motion and decreased the inflammation and pain that I’ve experienced. GT has sped up the recovery time for every one of my injuries.”

At Naperville House Call Chiropractic and Acupuncture, Dr Hagmeyer offers not only the Graston Technique but Low Level Laser Therapy, Acupuncture and Active Release Technique for sports and soft tissue injuries.

The Graston Technique has been the pain relief secret of professional sports for years and now more doctors of Chiropractic are offering it to the general public!

The Graston Technique allows Dr Hagmeyer to detect and treat areas of “scar tissue” adhesions in the muscles, tendons, and ligaments that can reduce our range of motion and cause pain. Chronic pain is one of the medical industry’s largest problems. What the Graston Technique does is erase pain without medication and surgery. It involves use of stainless steel tools to loosen up soft tissue tightness that can cause pain all over your body.

There is a reason that the Graston Technique has become a staple amongst sports oriented Chiropractic Physicians— it’s effectiveness in producing positive results! Because the Graston Technique is non-invasive, most patients are able to go about their daily routine without being disabled or experiencing down-time.

What You Can Expect

Patients typically receive two treatments per week over the course of several weeks, which will be determined by Dr Hagmeyer and your progress. Patients usually notice an improvement after 3 to 4 treatments. Treatments typically last anywhere from 10-30 minutes when combined with other treatments, which will depend on your Chiropractic care plan for your condition/ailment.

How the Graston Technique Works

The injury site can be tight and painful. Dr Hagmeyer will use a stainless steel instrument that glides along your muscle, tendons, or ligaments with an appropriate amount of pressure to detect where scar tissue and/or restrictions are located. When these knots or bands of scar tissue are encountered, both Dr Hagmeyer and you the patient can will sense restriction. The instrument is then used to break up the restriction/adhesion. Additional exercises and movements such as stretching, Chiropractic adjustments, Active Release technique are used to promote realignment of the fibers into a normal pattern of healthy tissue. There are different instruments used for different parts of the body.

"I was experiencing terrible pain down my leg that began in my second trimester. It was terrible and was concerned how this would affect my delivery process. I had a previous experience with chiropractic but I really liked Dr Hagmeyers house call approach and emphasis on pregnancy and pediatrics.
Dr Hagmeyer helped me in ways I had no idea. Not only did my Sciatica disappear after a few visits, my delivery was the easiest. I am so glad I found Dr. Hagmeyer! Now, My entire family sees him at the house. It's so convenient.
